MYC has
encouraged development in self-discipline,
concentration, perseverance, self-esteem, keyboard
skills and general music appreciation. I love
sharing in the lessons with my daughter. Some weeks
it is our only time "alone" together.

Jennifer always
enjoys her class. She always comes home feeling
very good about herself.

The pacing of
the program is great! Short tasks which you change
often are perfect for young children (especially
mine!). It matches their attention span.

I guess what
I, as a mother, like about MYC is the continual
reinforcement of new material learned through the
keyboard, workbook and subtly through games. It is
done in a creative way so as not to lose the child's
interest. I am very pleased that the child not only
does the practical work but also gains theory so as
to understand the "why" of what he is doing. I am
also pleased that we can share the music experience
together. Richard has not once objected to
attending his music class. He enjoys the "fun ways"
in which music is presented to him. He also enjoys
the contact with his peers. Of late, he has
particularly enjoyed the more contemporary music
such as "Valentine" and "Rollin' Rock." He also
felt important playing a duet with a grown-up."

Julia and I
both love the choice of music. She really enjoys
doing the written work in her "Bright Ideas" book.
The "Cool Work" sheets allow her more independence
which she likes. It also takes the pressure off of
me and we don't have any conflicts over practice.
She loves the class games and reward stickers. MYC
has helped Julia to achieve a real sense of
accomplishment.

MYC is very
enjoyable - the kids enjoy being with other kids in
this type of learning situation. It is
comprehensive and an excellent early program. The
younger children reinforce each other to a certain
extent. They are able to share a common learning
experience in a fun setting - learning almost in
spite of themselves. Young children would not, I
feel, do well in a stricter, more cut and dried
learning situation.

I feel that
this kind of music lesson for a small child is
ideal: a small group experience, varied activities,
parental participation, a relaxed informal
atmosphere for individual performance, highly
creative teaching methods and materials

We enjoy all
the variety found in the lessons. There is a
continual flow from one aspect to another. We enjoy
Terri's enthusiasm and her obvious love of music and
children. We enjoy going together and Mom being
able to help with practice through the week. It's a
wonderful program!
